Nursing Supervisor RN - GEO Care, LLC (Conroe, TX)
Looking for Day and Night Shift Supervisors Summary This position is directly responsible for the preparation and maintenance of nursing staff activities and schedules for designated units and areas to ensure twenty-four hour coverage.
Job responsibilities are carried out in direct consultation with the hospital''s Head Nurses and Chief Nursing Officer.
Staff scheduling includes the preparation of master schedules and the inclusion of daily revisions so that accurate records are always available by position; unit; shift assignment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for overall staffing of assigned shift, making adjustments to number and mix of staff based on hospital patient acuity and staff resources available.
Communicates with other shift coordinators on overall staffing of hospital.
Participates actively in nursing management meetings.
Conducts scheduled and unscheduled rounds to all nursing units as indicated.
Actively participates in the performance improvement process by monitoring and evaluating functions and performing qualitative reviews.
Completion of performance evaluations on assigned per diem staff (distribution based on primary shift per diem staff works).
Supervises nursing office staff.
Monitors and assigns duties to per diem staff and those on workers compensation light duty status i.
e.
, assignments, work hours, and complete performance evaluations.
Conducts shift staff meetings and facilitates staff trainings.
Other related duties JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements Graduation from an accredited college, university or vocational school.
Certification in mental health nursing is preferable.
CA minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in psychiatric mental health nursing is required with an additional two to three years supervisory experience.
JCAHO knowledge and experience preferred.
